James C. Carr, MD is a radiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Director of Cardiovascular Imaging. His specialties include vascular and interventional radiology, cardiac CT and MRI, and magnetic resonance angiography. Dr. Carr is also an Associate Professor of Radiology and Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University and a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation.

Dr. Carr is currently principal or co-investigator on 5 research grants, including 3 from the National Institutes of Health, to study cardiac and vascular MR. He has also received numerous honors from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, including the Francis Nolan Medical Scholarship and medals for first place in the Faculty of Radiologists' fellowship examination and second place in anatomy in the First Professional Examination.

After attending medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dr. Carr completed his internship and internal medicine residency at Ireland's Beaumont Hospital and his radiology residency at St. Vincent's Hospital. He conducted his fellowships in interventional radiology and cardiovascular imaging at Northwestern University.

Dr. Carr is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, the Royal College of Radiologists in London, the Faculty of Radiologists of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland.
